!KEVIN COLE\nKevin Cole is a [[research applications programmer|http://research.gallaudet.edu/~kjcole/Professional/resume.php]] for the [[Gallaudet Research Institute|http://research.gallaudet.edu/]] at [[Gallaudet University|http://www.gallaudet.edu/]] in northeast Washington, DC. \n\nHe is also the current contact person / cat herder for the [[Ubuntu DC "LoCo" (Local Community)|http://dc.ubuntu-us.org/]]. He has organized events promoting the use of open-source technologies -- particularly the GNU/Linux operating system and the Python programming language, and has written several on-line tutorials. !Jeff Elkner\nJeff Elkner is a free software activist and high school Computer Science teacher who has been working for software freedom ever since he was introduced to the GNU system and the Free Software Foundation in 1994. He teaches at Yorktown High School in Arlington, VA and is a co-author of How to Think Like a Computer Scientist: Learning with Python and author of numerous articles on using free software in the classroom.\n\n
Nicholas Wheeler, is a former student of Jeff Elkner's who has been involved with the [[DC LoCo Team | http://dc.ubuntu-us.org/ ]] since it's creation. Nick has helped set up and support Linux/LTSP labs around the DC metropolitan area, when not involved with his community oriented work, Nick is a Systems Administrator for [[Development InfoStructure Inc. | http://www.devis.com/]], an open source government contractor who services open source software as their business model. He is also a member of the Ubuntu Community Council and contributes some spare time making Ubuntu the best that it can be.
